The silver coating preserves the polarity of the light. This is different from normal projection fabric, which mainly reflects diffused light.
A 3D projection fabric has a higher gain for more brightness. This serves to compensate for the 3D glasses: the glasses block light, so the fabric must reflect as much light as possible.
